ACRE Test

Assessment of Catechesis/Religious Education (ACRE) help school, parish and diocesan leaders evaluate the faith knowledge and attitudes of students in Catholic schools and parish-based religious programs. ACRE provides faith knowledge questions related to religious beliefs, attitudes, practices, and perceptions.  It measures religious beliefs as it relates to God, the Church, Liturgy and Sacraments, Revelation, Life in Christ, Church History, Prayer/Religious Practices and Catholic Faith Literacy. In alternating years, children in levels 5 through 8 are given the assessment test.  In this Catechectical year 2006-2007, the administration of the test must take place between January 2nd and March 15th 2007.  The test date is scheduled for Wednesday, February 28, 2007.  It is extremely important that children in levels 5 – 8 are present to take the test.  Religious Education Catechists are given review questions during the year to prepare the children for the test.  ACRE test questions are a summary of information contained in children’s textbooks, workbooks, and class discussions.

Review questions are included on this Website to help prepare the children for the upcoming test.  Children can hand responses directly to the Catechetical Office.  These responses will be reviewed for correctness and returned.
