LENTEN SCRIPTURE SHARING GROUPS: DISCIPLES IN MISSION
Lent is sacred time during which the Church invites all the baptized to more
intense prayer. We come together to reflect on how Jesus calls us to faith,
to hope, to conversion and to mission.

Disciples in Mission invites all of us - adults, youth, families - through the
power of the Gospel to grow in holiness and to bring Christ's presence into
all areas of our lives.

Materials are available.

Groups are now forming at various days and times during Lent to break open
the Lenten Sunday Scriptures.  Please register in the Peace Site NOW so we
are sure to have the Disciple in Mission booklet for you!  You can sign-up for
the group of your choice in the Peace Site!

The bishops strike an appropriate note when they begin Go and Make Disciples,
their treatise on evangelization, with these words:

We say it about ourselves as bishops:
God has touched our lives in Jesus, bestowed his Spirit,
given us salvation and hope, and called us to live in witness to his love.

We know this is true of you as well:

You have received the Spirit of Christ Jesus, which brings salvation and hope;
your lives are a witness of faith.
Whether you were baptized as a child or joined as an adult, you have a story of faith.
Whether you sincerely live your faith in quiet or have a great public ministry, you have a
history of faith.
Whether you have a grade-school knowledge of catechism or have a theological degree,
you have a story of faith.

We all have - and are - stories of faith, for through the Spirit, the Gospel of Jesus Christ takes hold of us in the proclamation of his word, and Jesus touches us in the celebration of his sacraments. When this genuinely happens, we are set ablaze by his love.
